#ThrowbackThursday: Nas Edition

"I'm from where n***** pull your card and argue all day, who's the best MCs Biggie, Jay Z or Nas" Jay Z - Where I'm From

It's been 20 years since the MC from Queensbridge dropped his debut album Illmatic. I'll be honest that I didn't really appreciate Nas debut album until 2000-2002. Most definitely I feel this album is one of the most important albums in Hip Hop and even music.

I always say whenever you're struggling to find artists at their most honest and frank, always report back (if able to do so) and check their debut album. Nas debut album does this and more, it takes you back to that era of Hip Hop:

Nas - It Ain't Hard To Tell

Nas - N.Y State Of Mind

It's box office guarantee when debating the best MCs of all time list, Nas will appear in the top five unless the person doing the list is easily distracted by a beat like a baby. He's given us 10 solo albums (not including The Firm album, Lost Tapes or Distant Relatives), but my favourite album still remains to be "I Am..."
Nas - Nas Is Like

Nas x Puff Daddy - Hate Me Now

It doesn't matter who your favourite MC is in the history of Hip Hop. We all can agree Nas helped contribute giving us a legendary priceless moment.

I remember I was doing promo work for Westwood when that beef between Esco and Hov surfaced. When MTV actually showed music videos, Sway did this feature on Nas & Jay and THAT beef.

It had New York City hotter than volcano under the sun, but then the above picture took place. While people were still debating who won the battle, these two on they're grown ish called a truce. What if Pac and Biggie go the chance to talk it out?

Nas - Halftime
Here's to another 20 years of God's Son. If you haven't checked out Nas 2014 Coachella performance you need to do that now (after you enjoy the Nas videos). Don't forget Illmatic XX is now available to mark the 20th anniversary.

Nas - One Love
Nas - The World Is Yours
Nas x Jadakiss x Ludacris - Made You Look (remix)
